Hazrat Omar (R)
Hazrat Omar (R) was the
second Caliph of Islam. At night he used to walk alone in the streets of
Madina. His aim was to see the condition the people with his own eyes. One
night while walking he heard the sound of crying coming out from a hut. He went
there. He found a woman and three children. He asked the woman Why the children
were crying. The woman said to him that they had been starving for three days.
Hearing this, his heart melt into pity. He went to the Royal treasury and
brought food for them.
Napoleon Bonaparte
More than 170 years
ago, there lived in France one of the greatest soldiers called Napoleon
Bonaparte. He was born in 1769. When he was young, he joined the French Army as
an ordinary soldier. He fought several wars with the neighboring countries and
won victories over them. He rose to a high position in the army by his good
work and courage. . He grew very powerful and soon became the greatest man in
the country. In 1804, he proclaimed himself to be the Emperor. Under him France
was very powerful. He died in 1821. Yet the Frenchmen remember him with due
respect.
