Pastime
The activities those we
do regularly for our enjoyment rather than work is called pastime. Pastimes provides
us with the opportunities of rest and recreation. It differs from place to
place .In Indian sub-continent, people of both villages and cities have their
own pastimes. . In the villages, we see men pass their leisure by chatting,
gossiping and discussing local issues. Moreover women pass their pastime by gossiping,
doing different creative works and son. They also indulge in some games and
sports namely ha-du-du, boat race, kiting etc. Some village people have their
pastimes by doing social activities. Some take part in cultural activities like
‘Jatra, Jari-gan,’ etc. The people in towns are generally educated and they
spend their pastime reading newspapers, magazines, novels and other literary
works. But the trend of pastime is gradually changing. At present men and women
both youngers and elders, boys and girls pass their time by watching different YouTube
videos, scrolling on Facebook, Twitter and different social medias. Travelling is a good leisure. It refreshes our
mind and broadens our outlook. Nevertheless, it is true that travelling is an
expensive pastime. It is to be noted
that everyone should enjoy his or her activities related to pastime.
