Yoga is a group of
physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in
ancient India. Yoga helps in increasing the flexibility of the body, aids in
strengthening of muscles, and helps in relaxation and calming down oneself. There
is a broad variety of yoga schools, practices, and goals in Hinduism, Buddhism,
and Jainism. Among the most well-known types of yoga are Hatha yoga and Rāja
yoga. Description of an early form of yoga called nirodhayoga (yoga of
cessation) is contained in the Mokshadharma section of the 12th chapter (Shanti
Parva) of the Mahabharata. Yoga basically works on the different ‘Asannas’ or
postures, which focuses for certain body parts combined with paranayama or
breathing techniques that helps to integrate the body and mind. There are more
than a thousand poses in yoga and it mainly focuses on the mind by teaching you
to concentrate on certain parts of the body. Anybody could practice yoga, age
is never a barrier and yoga is opted over the other kinds of exercises as it
gives calmness for both body and soul at the same time. Yoga should be
practiced at least for 75 minutes, taking break in between. Yoga is one among
