Qualities of a Good Student
A good student must possess some
qualities. Or however meritorious a student may be, he cannot be a good
student. In the first place he • must have regularity in his studies. It means
he must carry on his studies on a regular basis, not by fits and starts.
Secondly, he should do everything with utmost punctuality. That means he must
do things at the time appointed by himself. For example, if he sits down to
read after the Magrib prayer he should do it every day. If he sits down
immediately after Margib on a day, and one hour after Magrib another day, it
will not mean punctuality. A good student's third quality is concentration in
studies. He should pay his full concentration to his lesson, and try to
understand and remember it with arduousness, Fourthy, a good student should
cultivate perseverance in his studies. It means that he should not easily give
up if he fails to understand some of his lessons because they are hard. He
should make repeated efforts, and surely things will be clear to him. Fifthly,
though not of the least importance, he should be careful about preserving good
health. If he fails to maintain good health, he may fall ill and lose much of
his study time. A student can be a good student if he cultivates the
above mentioned qualities.
