Amplification: The real dignity of
a man lies, not in what he has, but in what he is
A man's real
achievement is in his dignity. Dignity is not an inborn quality of human
beings. We cannot measure a man by status, possession or, economic development.
Man does not get the dignity from his forefathers His personality determines his
dignity. We know that virtuous men are always honored. Some people feel pride
in their wealth. They think that the wealth will increase their dignity. But it is not true. The real dignity of a
man depends on personal quality. Inherited property, class or, title may
superficially enhance one's acceptance.
But personal quality upholds man's image. Outward look may bring a benefit for
a someone for short period. But in the long run, it is valueless. Even, God
measures human beings by inner quality. A rich man gets importance in society
for his wealth. But it is very temporary. After his death, nobody will remember
him. In his absence,
people will make fun of him. But an honest man who has
dignity will influence people a lot. People will respect him in his life-time.
Even after his death, people will cast their blessings upon him. Honesty and
integrity makes a man dignified .So we can say that a man's dignity depends on
his personal quality and does not rely on
property.
