Leisure

Leisure means the free time at one’s disposal. In fact, Leisure time is the time when a man is his own master and is at liberty to pass his time in the manner he chooses. It gives a man an opportunity to engage in various leisure activities for enjoyment. Leisure time is necessary for people after working and studying hard, and there are various recreation activities to do base on oneself purpose. Many people support the methods helping the mind getting better, while others endorse the thinking to rest in free time, but it is more effective if we take part in outside activities. There are various ways of spending one’s leisure time through various leisure activities. Some go out to the countryside or some places of interest and feed their senses with sweet sights hobbies that fill their leisure with pleasure. It is matter of conscious that leisure should not be wasted in any unworthy activity.


Contribution of Begum Roquia


Begum Roquia Sakhawat Hussain  was a leading feminist writer and social worker in undivided Bengal during the early 20th century. She was born on 9th December 1880 In a renowned Muslim family  in Rangpur District. She is most famous for her efforts on behalf of gender equality and other social issues. She established the first school aimed primarily at Muslim girls, which still exists today. She was a notable Muslim feminist. Begum Roquia was an inspiring figure who contributed much to the struggle to liberate women from the bondage of social malaises. Her life can be seen in the context of other social reformers within what was then India. To raise popular consciousness, especially among women, she wrote a number of articles, stories and novels, mostly in Bengali. Begum Roquia wrote courageously against restrictions on women to promote their emancipation, which, she believed, would come about by breaking the gender division of labor. She rejected discrimination for women in the public arena and believed that discrimination would cease only when women were able to undertake whatever profession they chose. This great woman died on 9th December 1932.
